Individual Note: Anton Lichtel of Lichtenstein.
This was a Swiss Canton prior to 1795.
Anton was the Count of Lichtenstein and was driven to the free city ofNeurenberg for refuge and an Austrian nobleman was made Prince ofLichtenstein.
Anton's children, if he had any others than Johann were killed in thewar of the Austrian Succession. As an old man without a family Antonwas permitted to return to the Castle of Karnied where he died in1760. In 1753 Johann Wolfgang Leitzel came to America on the Britishship PEGGY, one of 216 passengers.

Individual Note: Jan, 25, 1845, Jacob Leitzel, south Hanover Twp., Dauphin Co., Pa.,and wife, Mary, sold a tract of 140 acres of land in derry Twp.,Auphin Co., Pa., to Henry Becthold of Mount Joy, Lancaster Co., Pa.This is the same land which Jacob had purchased from Samuel Faunce,Sheriff of Dauphin County, which was seized and sold as the propertyof Samuel Bechtold, Sr., on Nove. 15, 1844. Witness to thistransaction were S.W. Kline, Samuel Alleman, Geortge Blough, andFrederick Jummel. May 9, 1848. John Snyder, and wife, Elizabeth, ofMiddletown, Dauphone Co., Pa., sold a house locate on Lot No. 131 inthat town to Jacob Leitzel of the same place for $500.00 April 30,1856.
